The southern State of Telangana is constantly reporting below 300 new cases of the Wuhan virus, also known as the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) cases.

After the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) controlled the second wave of the Wuhan virus, the single day cases are below 300. It is to be noted, in the past 24 hours, the State reported 187 new cases, one death and 170 recoveries. The new cases were confirmed on the evening of the 6th of October, Wednesday, after reports of 39,161 samples came. The samples were collected to test for COVID-19 infection, taking the rally to 2,66,29,120.

The Telangana Health Department releases a media bulletin everyday to update the information about the COVID-19 situation in Telangana. The released bulletin has information about tests conducted, new cases, deceased cases, recovered cases and updated figures of COVID-19. According to the released data, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC,) region reported the highest number of cases with 62 new cases. Of all the districts, the GHMC limit showed no improvement and reports more than 50 cases regularly.

With this, Telangana now has 6,67,158 positive cases, of which 4,406 are active cases, 6,58,827 are recovered/discharged cases and 3,925 are deceased. The recovery rate of Telangana is now at 98.75% and the fatality rate of COVID-19 remained constant for the past three months at 0.58 %.

It is to be noted, in the South Indian region, Telangana is the only state with low single day cases of the Wuhan virus. Other states like Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, the COVID-19 situation is risky with a high number of cases and active cases above 5,000.

In addition, the Telangana Health and Public Welfare Director Dr. G. Srinivas Rao reissued a set of guidelines for COVID-19, asking everyone to follow the guidelines properly. He asked people to get their tests done immediately, if having COVID-19 symptoms.

The Telangana Government also alerted about water borne and mosquito borne diseases like Dengue and Malaria and other viral fevers, especially when the health experts alerted India of the possible third wave of the Wuhan virus in mid October.
