In Telangana, the number of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 cases continued to surge. In the past 24 hours, the State reportedthe state reported 2,251 fresh cases on a single day.
The number were released through a media bulletin by the State Health Department. As per the data, the State has 2,251 new cases, 6 deaths and 565 recoveries.
With this, the number of COVID-19 cases reported so far has gone up to 3,29,529, of which the total recoveries in the State is at 3,05,900, number of active cases stand at 21,800 and 1,765 fatalities. Adding to this, the cumulatively, over 1.10 crore samples have been tested. The samples tested per million population was over 2.97 lakh, the bulletin said.
The recovery rate of COVID-19 in Telangana fell to 92.82 % and fatality rate is at 0.54 %.
Meanwhile, concerned about the second wave, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government requested the Centre to send more COVID-19 vaccines as the reserves are getting depleted.
In addition, according to a separate release, over 18.56 lakh people in the state have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine while over 3.02 lakh got their second shot also as of April 11.
