Telangana Reports 772 New COVID-19 Cases With 7 Deaths, Total At 6.29 Lakhs

After reporting 784 cases on the 6th of July, Telangana’s Wuhan virus cases fell to 772 a day after, the 7th of July.

For the 9th consecutive day, the Wuhan virus, also known as the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) single day cases were below 1,000. In the past 24 hours, Telangana registered 772 new cases with 7 deaths and 748 recovered/discharged cases.

The State is witnessing a decline in the COVID-19 cases under the strict surveillance of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government. The State Police and officials of the TRS Government are leaving no stone unturned to vaccinate people and control the spread of the virus. In addition, so far 1.18 crore people received their COVID-19 vaccine doses.

It is to be noted, the cases started declining after two weeks, when the State was under a complete lockdown. As a result, with the cooperation of the people of Telangana and State Government, even after the lockdown was lifted, the cases are below 1,000. It has been 17 days since the State Government lifted the lockdown.

From 20,000 active cases, the State’s active COVID-19 cases reduced to 10,000 in just a month. In addition, the updated COVID-19 data was confirmed through a health bulletin released to the media on the evening of the 7th of July. The State Health Department releases a bulletin every day at 8:00 P.M.

According to the health bulletin released on the 5th of July, Telangana now has 6,29,054 positive cases, of which 11,455 are active cases, 6,13,874 are recovered/discharged cases and 3,710 are deceased cases.

In Telangana, the regions of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) accounted for the highest number of cases with 88 cases, followed by Khammam (86) and Nalgonda (57.)

In addition, according to the bulletin, the Telangana Medical Department conducted 1.1 lakh sample tests for COVID-19, taking the total to 1.93 crores (1,92,78,945) till the 8th of July.

With this, the recovery rate of Telangana improved to 97.by 60% from the previous 97.58% recovery rate. In addition, the fatality rate of COVID-19 remains stable at 0.58 %.

Meanwhile, compared to the previous 48 containment zones, there are 46 active containment zones in Telangana. Of these, the highest number of containment zones are in Mahabubabad (16) followed by 9 in Bhadradri Kothagudem district. There are no containment zones in Hyderabad.
