Telangana Reports 869 New COVID-19 Cases With 8 Deaths

For the fifth consecutive day, the Wuhan virus, also known as the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) single day cases were below 1,000. In the past 24 hours, Telangana registered 869 new cases with 8 deaths and 1,197 recovered/discharged cases.

With the efforts of The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government, the COVID-19 situation is improving in the State. The recently imposed lockdown with strict surveillance by the State police played a major role in containing the spread of the Wuhan virus. It has been 11 days since the State Government lifted the lockdown and the situation is said to be under control.

The new cases were confirmed through a health bulletin released to the media on the 1st of July. The State Health Department releases a bulletin every day at 8:00 P.M.

According to the health bulletin released on the 1st of July, Thursday, Telangana now has 6,24,379 positive cases, of which 13,052 are active cases, 6,07,658 are recovered/discharged cases and 3,669 are deceased cases.

In Telangana, the regions of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) accounted for the highest number of cases with 101 cases, followed by Nalgonda (72) and Rangareddy (65.)

In addition, according to the bulletin, the Telangana Medical Department conducted 1,05,123 sample tests for COVID-19, taking the total to 1.87 crores (1,87,77,030) till the 1st of July.

With this, the recovery rate of Telangana improved to 97.32% from the previous 97.26% recovery rate. In addition, the fatality rate of COVID-19 remains stable at 0.58 %.

Meanwhile, compared to the previous 88 containment zones, there are 82 active containment zones in Telangana. Of these, the highest number of containment zones are in Mahabubabad and Hyderabad (20) followed by 19 in Bhadradri Kothagudem district.
