Telangana on the 14th of December, confirmed the lowest cases of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.

The Telangana Health Department released a media bulletin, updating about the COVID-19 situation in the State.

According to the released bulletin, Telangana reported 384 new cases of COVID-19 infection.

Of the total new cases, the highest number of cases were from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC,) with 101 cases, followed by Rangareddy (36,) Medchal Malkajgiri (31,) Warangal Urban (25,) Karimnagar (16) and Sangareddy (15.)

The remaining 76 cases were from other districts of Telangana.

Besides the new positive cases, the State also reported 3 deaths and 631 recoveries.

This is the first time in the past few days, the number of recoveries doubled the number of new cases.

However, the State Health Department in the past 24 hours, conducted a low number of COVID-19 tests.

In between the 12th of December and the 13th of December, the State took 28,980 sample tests only, of which 384 were positive cases.

Of the 28,980 tests conducted during the last 24 hours, government run laboratories accounted for 24,454 while the remaining 2,526 samples were tested in private labs.

With the aforementioned data, Telangana has 2,78,108 positive cases, of which 7,380 are active cases, 2,69,232 are recovered/discharged cases and 1,496 deceased.

Telangana also has a recovery rate of COVID-19 more than 95 %, as it stands at 96.80 % and the case fatality rate at 0.53 %.

Meanwhile, to curb the spread of virus and make progress in the COVID-19 vaccination, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) formed four committees. The four Constituted committees are:

State Steering Committee

State Task Force

District Task Force

Mandal Task Force

These aforementioned committees would monitor the COVID-19 vaccination mechanism in the State.
