After reporting below 3,000 cases of the Wuhan virus, also known as COVID-19 cases, in the past few days, the Telugu State of Telangana reported over 3,000 cases on the 19th of January, Wednesday.
On Wednesday, the Telangana Health Department confirmed 3,557 new cases of the Wuhan virus. On the evening of Wednesday, the department released a health bulletin and confirmed 3,557 new cases, 3 fatalities and 1,773 recoveries from the deadly virus. The new figures of the Wuhan virus were confirmed after the State Health Department conducted 1,11,178 tests for COVID-19. So far, a total of 3.09 crore COVID-19 tests have been conducted in the State.
In addition, of the total cases, the highest number of Wuhan virus cases are from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) with 1,474 positive infections. Besides GHMC, Medchal-Malkajgiri and Rangareddy districts also reported 321 and 275 cases, respectively. In addition, six districts reported COVID-19 cases above 100 in the past 24 hours.
With this, Telangana has 7,18,196 positive cases, of which 6,89,878 recovered/discharged, 24,253 are active cases and 4,065 are deceased cases, till date.
On the other hand, not only Wuhan virus cases, but its new variant Omicron is also rapidly rising in the Telugu State.
