For another consecutive day, Telangana reported below 400 single day cases of the Wuhan virus, also known as the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19.)
With the lowest single day cases, Telangana becomes the only South Indian state with below 6,200 active cases. With the efforts of the Telangana Government and constant review meetings ,the COVID-19 situation in the State is said to be under control.
In the past 24 hours, the Telugu State registered 339 new COVID-19 cases, 2 deaths and 417 recoveries.
With this, Telangana now has 6,56,794 positive cases, of which 6,166 are active cases, 6,46,761 are recovered/discharged cases and 3,865 are deceased.
On the evening of the 27th of August, the Telangana Health Department released a media bulletin and updated about the COVID-19 situation in Telangana.
The new cases were confirmed after conducting 80,568 COVID-19 tests of samples, taking the cumulative total to 2.43 crores till date.
According to sources, the highest number of cases have been reported from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) region, areas of Rangareddy, Warangal and Karimnagar. The GHMC reported the highest number of COVID-19 (91) cases in the past 24 hours, followed by Karimnagar (31) and Khammam(28.)
In addition, the recovery rate of Telangana improved to 98.47 % from the previous 98.45% for the second day and the fatality rate of COVID-19 remained constant for the past 10 days at 0.58 %.
It is to be noted, of the total active cases, 79.90 % cases are asymptomatic, whereas, only 20.10 % are symptomatic.
