TRS Minister Satyavati Rathod Tests COVID-19 Positive, Under Home Isolation

On the 8th of March, Satyavathi Rathod, a Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) leader tested positive for the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19.

Soon after the COVID-19 test reports, Ms. Rathod, the Tribal Welfare Minister of Telangana cancelled all the programmes scheduled for today.

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Ms. Satyavati was scheduled to attend a few events. However, after testing COVID-19 positive, she rushed home and quarantined herself. She will remain in home quarantine for the next two weeks and would consult a doctor accordingly.

The TRS minister was suffering from fever for the past four days and had undergone COVID-19 test. Her test results came on Monday, the 8th of March.

Meanwhile, on the 8th of March, Telangana surged to 3 lakh cases of the Coronavirus.

With 111 new COVID-19 positive cases, the State now has 3,00,011 cases. Of the total, 2,96,562 are recovered/discharged cases, 1,642 are deceased cases and 1,807 active cases.

Meanwhile, the fatality rate remained 0.54 per cent against the national average of 1.4 %, recovery rate is at 98.85 % and active caseload rate is at 0.61 %
