Yadadri Temple Closes Arjitha Seva For Devotees After Employees Test COVID-19 Positive

On the 27th of March, the Yadagirigutta Temple authority conducted a review meeting.

Situated in Telangana, Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy’s Yadadri Temple employees tested positive for the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19. On the 26th of March, six employees of the temple tested COVID-19 positive, following which a meeting was held. The six include three priests and three staffers, according to the officials of the district medical and health department.

During the meeting, the Temple authority decided to stop the ‘Arjitha Sevas’ for three days. Starting from the 28th of March, Arijitha Seva (opportunity of viewing the Deity,) would be suspended for devotees until the 30th of March.

The decision to shut the temple for devotees came at a time when Telangana is witnessing a huge number of Coronavirus cases.

Telangana on the 27th of March, recorded 495 coronavirus positive cases including 142 from Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation. The total number of coronavirus positive cases in the state touched 3,05,804 and the recovery cases 2,99,878. With two persons dying of the virus in the last 24 hours, the death toll rose to 1,685.

Currently, there are 4,241 active cases out of which 1,870 are in home or institutional isolation.
