Samantha-Siddharth Break Up
It is a splitsville for the most romantic couple – Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Siddharth. The new year began on a sad note for the love birds as they headed for a break up. It is still a mystery for the fans as what made the couple to end the relationship. Siddharth tweeted, “That moment when you realise that what you thought was the worst thing that happened to you is actually the best thing that happened to you.”
Immeddiately, Samantha posted, “That moment when I realise you’re just somebody I used to know.” However, the tweets were deleted afterwards. Reasons best known for them, the couple gave a major heart ache to their fans with their break up.
Radhika Apte’s sensational comments on actors
One of the top actresses of cinema world, Radhika Apte hit headlines when she made unbelievable comments on the actors of the Telugu film industry. In an interview, the actress said that she struggled a lot in the Telugu industry. She added that Tollywood is patriarchal and male dominated. The actress also said that it is unbearable as how they treat women. Finally, Radhika said that she constantly struggled in the industry and decided to put an end to it.
In Telugu, Radhika Apte acted in Ram Gopal Varma’s “Raktacharitra” franchise and she also acted opposite Balakrishna in “Legend” and “Lion”.
Baahubali – Pride of Indian Cinema
SS Rajamouli’s “Baahubali” is a game changer for the T-Town as the magnum opus elevated the standards of Indian cinema to a greater heights. Known for its huge star cast, the film features Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, Tamanaah Bhatia, Ramya Krishna and Sathyaraj in lead roles. Touted to be India’s largest motion picture, the movie set the box office on fire with its collections.
Now, the team is gearing up for the second installment titled “Baahubali – The Conclusion”. The movie is expected to hit silver screens in 2017.
Mahesh Babu’s “Srimanthudu” – A revolution
Mahesh Babu redefined the south cinema with his recent outing “Srimanthudu”. Directed by Koratala Siva, the movie stars Shruthi Haasan in a romantic lead role opposite Mahesh. Released in both Tamil and Telugu, the movie was a blockbuster hit at the box office.
The message oriented flick of Mahesh was received well by the audience. A few of the celebrities were moved with the content of the picture and also adopted villages. “Srimanthudu” created a mini size revolution among the biggies in the Tollywood.
Launch of Akhil Akkineni in T-Town
Star kid Akhil Akkineni was introduced to the Tollywood in the year. He made his debut in VV Vinayak’s flick “Akhil”. Though, the picture failed at the box office, the young lad was appreciated for his efforts and skills.
Akhil’s debut in the Telugu film industry was talk of the town as he stuck to the headlines even before the announcement of his debut film. However, the actor managed to steal the hearts of the audience.
Trisha calls off engagement
Southern beauty, Trisha made millions of hearts set aflutter with her varied roles. It was a celebration moment for her fans when she was engaged to Varun Manian in presence of their family and friends.
After few days of the engagement, the tinsel town is abuzz with the reports of the separation. Then, the actress took to Twitter and confirmed the news. She posted, “I don’t want to talk about it because it involves two families and I don’t want to hurt anyone.”
Ali’s lewd comments on actresses
Tollywood’s most popular comedian Ali, who made made billions of audience chortle with his comic timing, stole the spotlight when he made lewd comments on actresses. During an audio launch, Ali called the top actress Anushka – a jalebi. Not just that, he even added that everybody likes to eat the jalebi. He didn’t stop there and also commented about her thighs.
Inside and outside the tinsel town, the comments on Anushka by Ali, did not go well. A few sections of the society, had condemned his patriarchal attitude and chauvinist comments on leading lady of the South. Disturbed by such reports, Ali also apologised for his comments on the actress. He said that he took it as a part of entertainment and he heard that it hurt some people.
Chiranjeevi’s 150th confirmed
Chiranjeevi’s 150th film was always a major topic to discuss in the industry. But ever since the actor announced his 150th project, the movie became one of the most-anticipated films.
Tollywood’s ace filmmaker VV Vinayak is all set to direct the Chiru’s much-talked-about upcoming film, which is an official remake of Tamil’s blockbuster movie “Katthi”. The picture is yet-to-be titled and also the makers are yet to reveal the details of the cast and crew of the picture.
Big fat wedding of Manchu Manoj
Manchu Manoj tied the knot with his lady love Pranathi on May 20 at Madhapur Hitex in Hyderabad. The wedding was a starry one as the celebrities from the country graced the occasion and blessed the couple.
The big fat wedding of the Manoj was one of the top weddings of 2015. The pre-nuptial ceremonies were also celebrated in a grand manner.
RGV’s “Guns and Thighs”
Maverick filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma raised dust in the industry with his autobiography titled “Guns and Thighs”. The director dedicated the book to actors including Ayn Rand, Bruce Lee, Urmila Matoandkar, Amitabh Bachchan, a few gangsters and star Tori Black. He added that they all have contributed in his life one way or the other.
RGV is no new to controversies, he made headlines when he tweeted about the lord Ganesha. His comments on Pawan Kalyan, Chiranjeevi and Sridevi created a storm in the tinsel town. Lastly, the filmmaker announced his upcoming flick ttiled “Andhra CM kidnapped” with a tagline “Telangana CM suspected.” Speculation is rife that the director is very keen to direct the movie on the most sensitive issue of the both states.
Loss of Gems
Besides the celebrations and controversies, the Tollywood also beared the loss of few titans. The passing away of young actress Aarthi Agarwal shook the industry. Well-known actors MS Narayan, Kallu Chidambaram, Ahuti Prasad, Ramanaidu, Manorama, Kondavalasa Laxmana Rao and Edida Nageswara Rao passed away and left a void in the T-Town.
