Mumbai : Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar announced Rs 90 lakh to help farmers in Maharashtra. The announcement came a few weeks after actor Nana Patekar announced Rs 15 lakh for farmers in the state. However, it is good to see Bollywood stars helping drought-hit farmers. Besides, Akshay, cricketer Ajinkya Rahane also came forward to help the farmers.
Nearly 180 families of drought-hit farmers, who committed suicide in Marathwada, will get benefited with the donation of Akshay Kumar. The team of the star donated Rs 15 lakh to 30 widows and is planning to donate the same amount every month for the next five months.
Akshay was last seen in “Brothers”, which garnered good response from the audience and also performed well at the ticket windows. He is gearing up for his future projects “Singh Is Bling”, “Airlift” and “Housefull 3”.
