Mumbai: Actor Akshay Kumar says “Sholay” cannot be remade. The all time favourite movie “Sholay” will turn 40 on August 15, on Independence Day.
While promoting the upcoming movie titled “Brothers”, Akshay Kumar said that “Sholay” cannot be remade and it would be injustice. When asked whether he would be a part of the remake of “Sholay”, Akshay replied that if he is asked to play a role in the remake, it’s impossible. He added that the way it has been made, it would be injustice to portray the characters the same way.
Akshay’s co-star Siddharth Malhotra also said that he love the star cast and scenes. He said that it is a film which lived for 40 years and added that even when we watch it today, we thoroughly enjoy it.
“Sholay” is multi-starrer featuring Akshay Kumar and Siddharth Malhotra in lead roles. Actress Jacqueline Fernandez has been roped in opposite Akshay in the film. The action drama also stars Jackie Shroff and Shefali Shah in a prominent roles. Directed by Karan Malhotra, “Brothers” is an official remake of 2011 Hollywood film “Warrior”. The movie is all set for release on August 14, 2015.
