Ahead of release, Adipurush landed into another controversy, after Actress Kriti Sanon and director Om Raut’s kiss on cheek images went viral.
On the 7th of June, Wednesday, Mr. Om Raut and actress Kriti Sanon visited the Tirumala Venkateswara Temple, in Tirumala, Andhra Pradesh. The two visited the temple in order to promote their movie Adipurush, set to release on the 16th of June. The film is a recite story of Ramayana, and features Kriti Sanon in the character of Sita, Tollywood superstar Prabhas as ‘Maryada Purushottam Ram,’ under the direction of Om Raut.
The pair attended the special darshan and prayed to Lord Venkateswara Swamy for the film’s release. However, while departing, Om Raut gave Kriti a goodbye kiss on the cheek, and the image is now all over social media platforms, gaining criticism for the makers. Not only temple priests, netizens, but Ramesh Naidu Nagothu, a leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) also took to Twitter and criticized the doing, in a temple. The BJP leader objected to the public display of affection and questioned if it was necessary. However, later, he deleted the shared tweet.
