Bollywood fans rejoice as the versatile Aamir Khan and King of Bollywood Shah Rukh Khan are finally set to share the screen space. The duo are expected to be seen together in a television commercial.
Speaking to an entertainment daily website, a source said, “Shah Rukh and Aamir will be part of the Nayi Soch campaign. The promo with Aamir, playing a Sardarji is out and gaining rave reviews. It’s a beautiful campaign. Now, as we all know, S.R.K., will be hosting the Indian version of TED Talks: Nayi Soch,” The new TVC of Star Plus has Aamir Khan highlighting gender equality.
Aamir and Shah Rukh have been part of Bollywood for more than two decades. But the duo was mostly at cold war after the famous Filmfare spat of 1995, wherein S.R.K.,’s movie “Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge” won over Aamir for “Andaaz Apna Apna” nomination. This did not sit well with Aamir who also avoided Award functions after that.
But the duo seem to have been over the cold war, and after 20 years in the industry they shared a selfie together with the caption “Known each other for 25 years and this is the first picture we have taken together of ourselves. Was a fun night (sic.)”
Aamir was last seen in “Dangal” directed by Nitish Tiwari, a biography which was declared a box office hit even overseas. The star donned the role of Mahavir Singh Phogat, the father of wrestlers Geeta and Babita. Shah Rukh was seen last in “Raees,” wherein he shared screen space with Pakistani actress Mahira Khan. The movie was embroiled in controversy even before its release due to the Pakistani star’s involvement. S.R.K., played the role of a bootlegger in the film which went on to become a hit.
S.R.K., is presently shooting for Imtiaz Ali’s next alongside Anushka Sharma and is also committed to Anand L. Rai’s next project. Whereas Aamir will next be seen in “Secret Superstar,” directed by Advait Chandan and co-produced by his wife Kiran Rao, and is set to release on August 4th.
Well, fans will be elated if the stars come together for a movie instead of just a TV Commercial.
