Radhika Apte, the symbol for bold and beautiful in the Bollywood, is now the reigning queen of slams as she put the out-of-line reporter in his place when he questioned her about the leaked scenes from her latest movie Parched.
Apte, who hails from Pune and first made her debut with the Hindi film Vah! Life ho toh Aisi, has always been at the forefront of bold cinema, be it with her short films or the films like Parched. In Parched, she has shown that every woman has the right to her freedom and is the master of her own body. This is a lesson that she tried to teach the pesky reporter who had asked her “if doing controversial scenes before a film were necessary to become successful as a film star” during one of the press meets for the movie. Radhika got back in choicest of words saying that it was people like him, who fuelled the unnecessary news, who made controversies and that he would do better to come out of his cocoon and see for himself how artists around the world are comfortable with what they do.
Well, the reporter definitely had it coming to him and any other anti-feminists too who think that just because an actress sheds her clothes on the screen, she will take any kind of comment in person. Truth be told, Radhika stated that, in fact, the shooting of the whole scene was a memorable experience because she laughed so much with her co-star Adil Hussain. They share a special friendship off screen as well as a chemistry on screen.
Parched is raving with great reviews since it was released and shows impeccably how woman of the country are subdued and taken advantage of. Kudos to the director Linaa Yadav and the entire team for such amazing venture!
