‘Yes I Bought a Filmfare’ – Rishi Kapoor!

Just in, the last week a lot of controversies surrounded the Filmfare Awards this year. While it ended on a happy note, some categories made the audience happy while some left everyone disappointed. Happiness and disappointments apart, the expression that was constant was surprise. The reason for surprise was the absence of major names in nominations for various categories which made the audience and viewers doubt the credibility of the awards. Amidst this, Bollywood senior star Rishi Kapoor made some shocking revelations in his book Khullam Khulla.

The actor in his biography ”Khullam Khulla” which is releasing soon has made some quite interesting revelations. In an interview with a news daily he confessed to having bought the Filmfare Award for the Best Actor in 1973. The only release Rishi Kapoor has that year was ”Bobby.” His movie was competing with Amitabh Bachchan’s “Zanjeer” in the same category. Rishi Kapoor confessed to feeling extremely guilty, and said, “It was a mistake, and I’m owning it up in the book. But that doesn’t mean after that I bought all my awards. I was so naive then, a 20 year old brash bacha.”

 

Coincidentally, 2017 has started off with Bollywood’s biggest stars making revelations and their biographies. On Sunday, Karan Johar’s book ”The Unsuitable Boy” was launched by Shah Rukh Khan. The biography gives an up close and detailed look into the life of director-producer Karan Johar.

The book, according to Rishi has been named after the famous ‘Khullam Khulla Pyar karenge’ song from ”Khel Khel Mein.” The actor in his book also mentioned his father, Raj Kapoor’s relationship with Nargis and Vyjayantimala, he also revealed about his alleged affair with Dimple Kapadia. This alleged affair started a cold water between Rishi and Rajesh Khanna, who married to Dimple immediately after the release of ”Bobby.”
