City Civil Court Issued Notices to Mahesh Babu Starrer “Srimanthudu” Team

Hyderabad: On Thursday, the City civil court issued notices to super star Mahesh Babu starrer “Srimanthudu” team and Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan for allegedly violating the Copyright Act. A petition was filed against the team by the writer Sharath Chandra. The writer alleged that the filmmakers of “Srimanthudu” and actor Hrithik Roshan, who is planning to remake it, copied the story from his novel titled “Chachchenta Prema”, which was published in the magazine “Swati” in 2012.

With this, the court directed the makers to reply by March 4th. The writer also added that he planned to make it a film with director Samudrala but the project was shelved. He filed the petition at the city civil court seeking action under the Copyright Act against Srimanthudu director, producers and Hrithik Roshan to stop its Hindi remake.

Filmmaker Koratala Siva directed the movie starring Shruti Haasan in romantic lead role opposite Mahesh for the first time. The movie also features Jagapathi Babu and Rajendra Prasad in major roles. The complete family entertainer was a blockbuster hit the box office.
