The forthcoming film, Brahmastra by Ayan Mukerji is turning out to be one of the most anticipated Bollywood films. Recently, Karan Johar put up a Tweet that revealed the title of the film along with a few more details.
The movie has signed on Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor in the lead roles. It has also been reported Brahmastra will be a trilogy. Reports suggest that the movies are planned to be made on a lavish budget of Rs. 100 crores.
A source revealed to a news channel, “Karan plans to go big with Brahmastra. He has asked the team not to worry about the budget. KJo understands that a superhero film needs a mounting of a certain stature. The approximate budget of the film is expected to be over Rs. 100 crores, which also means that Brahmastra will be KJo’s biggest film till date, budget wise. Previously, he had planned to make Shuddhi on a scale like this but it didn’t work out.”
The film will be based on a sci fi drama and will also cast superstar Amitabh Bachchan in a pivotal role.
Ayan Mukerji was quoted saying, “There is lot of action, so there is lot of training, like gymnastics kind of training, horse riding, fighting and lot of physical stuff that Ranbir will have to do. And then there is internal work, like to get the spirit of the character right (sic).”
The shooting of the film will begin sometime next year and the first part of Brahmastra is expected to release on 2019 Independence Day.
