The Entertainment Journalists’ Guild of India, on the 9th of July, decided to boycott Kangana Ranaut, a Bollywood actress.
The decision of the Entertainment Journalists’ Guild of India came after a recent dispute between Ms. Ranaut and Justin Rao, an entertainment journalist of the Press Trust of India (PTI.)
On the 7th of July, Ms. Ranaut lashed out at Justin Rao, who was present at a promotional event for Ekta Kapoor’s upcoming movie Judgementall Hai Kya.
Kangana slammed Justin, stating he was running a smear campaign against her and he wrote negative comments about Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, Ranaut’s previous movie. She also alleged, Justin sent her personal messages and stayed for 3 long hours in her vanity van. However, Rao denied the allegations and said he met the actor briefly for an interview and there were no personal messages he sent.
The members of the Guild demanded a public apology from both Ekta Kapoor and Kangana Ranaut, for the dispute between Ranaut and Rao.
The delegation of the Guild wrote a letter to Ekta Kapoor and said, “We, as a guild, have collectively decided to boycott Ms Ranaut and not give her any media coverage.”
Although the Guild boycotted Kangana, they assured, the step will not affect the movie and the remaining cast of Judgementall Hai Kya.
The Guild said, they will continue boycotting Ms. Ranaut until both Ms. Kapoor and Ranaut issue an apology to Justin.
While Ekta Kapoor agreed to issue the apology and expressed regret over the incident, Ranaut refused to apologise.
Rangoli Chandel, the sister of Kangana, took to Twitter and said, Kangana will not apologise. She said, “I promise one thing that there will be no apology from Kangana.”

Directed by Prakash Kovelamudi, Judgementall Hai Kya stars Rajkummar Rao and Kangana Ranaut. The movie is scheduled to release on the 26th of July.
