Hollywood pays tribute to George Michael

George Michael passed away at his residence peacefully on Christmas.

George Michael, born Georgios Kyriacos Panayiotou was an British singer, songwriter and record producer who rose to fame in 1980s and 1990s for his musical group ‘Wham!’ Some of his notable works are ‘Last Christmas’, ‘Wake me Up before you Go-Go’ and albums ‘Faith’ and ‘Listen Without Prejudice Vol. 1’ that came during this period.

He also had huge success as a solo performer. On Christmas day, the Singer producer passed away peacefully at his home in Goring, Oxforshire. George Michael’s manager, Michael Lippmann, released a statement saying he died of heart failure. His former band mate of Wham!, Andrew Ridgeley took to twitter to express his emotions and said he was “heartbroken at the loss of my beloved friend.” His post on Twitter read, “Me, his loved ones, his friends, the world of music, the world at large. 4ever loved. A xx”

Ridgeley largely maintained a low profile since Wham! And married a member of their band in the 1980’s band Bananarama, Karen Woodward. A member of the same group Sara Dillion tweeted in his memory.
