On Tuesday at 5 A.M., a Jet Airways flight with 161 people aboard including the crew and pilots veered off the runway at Dabolim airport in Goa. This incident happened while the plane was angling to take off to Mumbai. During evacuation 15 passengers suffered minor injuries. The flight 9W 2374 that was in an accident arrived from Dubai to Goa and was taking off to Mumbai when it skidded off the runway.
The injuries that happened during the evacuation were a result of the Aircraft tilting forward during the evacuation, that triggered panic among the passengers. The reports said that 15 people suffered minor injuries and fractures in the process of evacuation. The airlines released a statement saying, “Few guests have sustained minor injuries during the evacuation process and medical assistance is being coordinated by the Jet Airways team and the airport authorities.”
The airport authorities about this incident said, “When people were getting down the plane, it suddenly tilted forward triggering panic and chaos.”
Apart from 154 passengers, there were seven crew members aboard the airport. The airport of Goa has been shut down till 12:30 P.M., for all flights.
