Chennai: Income tax officials conducted raids on homes of Kollywood A-listers. On Wednesday morning, the IT slueths conducted raids on residences of Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Nayanthara and Vijay.
Nearly 32 places are being raided in major cities including Chennai, Madurai, Trivandrum, Cochin, Hyderabad of states of Kerala, Telangana and Tamil Nadu from 7am on Wednesday. The officials also raided the residences, offices and other properties of the actors, according to reports.
The reports also said that the raids were conducted following the reports that some investment made in Vijay’s forthcoming film “Puli”, which is slated for a release on Thursday, is unaccounted for.
The surprise searches are also underway at the homes of producers of the movie – Madurai Anbu, Shibu, Selvakumar, Ramesh and others.
“Puli” is an upcoming fantasy drama. The most expensive film stars super star Vijay in a major role. Directed by Chimbu Deven, the picture also features Sridevi, Shruthi Haasan, Sudeep, Hansika Motwani and others in prominent roles.
