Mumbai: Actress Kangana Ranaut, who scored blockbuster with her latest flick “Tanu Weds Manu Returns” is all set to star opposite British actor Hugh Grant, according to reports. It is heard that the project is a biopic of Rani Laxmi Bai. Kangana has been roped in to play the lead role and the makers are planning to rope in Hugh Grant for the role of General Hugh Rose.
Filmmaker Ketan Mehta, who earned well-deserved recognition with movies “Mangal Pandey” and “Rang Rasiya”, is directing the drama with great efforts. Kangana is also expected to take extensive training in sword-fighting, horse-riding and all other required skills for the role. The movie is being made simultaneously in both Hindi and English.
Speaking about the project, Mehta confirmed that Kangana is in the film and he always wanted to make The Rising as a triology. He added that this movie will be the second part after Mangal Pandey.
With this film, Kangana will be acting in a biopic for the first time. After Sonam Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai and Sonakshi Sinha, it is ‘Queen Bee’ Kangana gearing up to bring life to Rani Laxmi Bai on silver screens.
