Priyanka Chopra Criticized over her T-Shirt for a Magazine Cover

The usually well dressed Priyanka Chopra faced a lot of flak from social media when she chose to wear a particularly insulting t-shirt for her cover of Conde Nast Traveller.

The cover, which is a feature on Travel, shows Piggy Chops, seductively damp, wearing a white tee that strikes off the words immigrant, refugee and outsider to show the word – Traveller. People took to Twitter to show their disgust at the message which was apparently shown on this piece of clothing. They were certainly not pleased with the way the whole thing was portrayed and commented saying that “Being a Refugee is not a matter of choice.”

Although there were some supporters of the “Quantico” star too. They defended the actress saying that it was just a t-shirt and didn’t have twisted meanings like people were making them out to be. In fact, the issue could be in support of refugees and immigrants showing that we do not have to label them so. They are just travelers, finding their home in the world.

Either ways, this is not the first time that Chopra has had to face criticism. The last time was for her comments on feminism that got to people’s nerves. “I don’t like the phrase ‘woman of color.’ I feel like that puts women in a box. I’m a woman, whether I’m white, black, brown, green, blue, or pink — whatever. I think we need to start looking beyond that. It would be a big win for women, period,” she had said.
Priyanka is yet to comment on this issue and we are waiting to see what the cover actually conveys.
