New Delhi: The story of national hero “Neerja“, starring Sonam Kapoor in a title role, is riding high at the box office. After Maharashtra and Gujarat, the film is now tax-free in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh as well.
The fashionista took to her micro-blogging site Twitter and announced the news. She thanked politician Akhilesh Yadav and Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Admi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal for making the movie tax free in Uttar Pradesh and Delhi.
On her Twitter handle, she wrote-
“#Neerja is tax free in #uttarpradesh! thank you @yadavakhilesh sir! Thank you for doing this.. We feel so blessed!”
“Thank you @ArvindKejriwal sir for this!! #delhi is also tax free!! Team #Neerja is very grateful!”
The Ram Madhvani directed biographical film is the latest talk of town. The film garnered enough attention from the audience for portraying the story of India’s daughter, Neerja Bhanot, who was a flight attendant on the ill-fated flight Pan Am. The plane was hijacked by a group of terrorists and she lost her life while saving the lives of passengers.
