Veteran Actor Nana Patekar Passes Away at 75 in Goa

Veteran Bollywood actor Nana Patekar has passed away at the age of 75 in Goa. The acclaimed actor was found unconscious at his residence in Goa and was taken to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival, according to Manipal Hospital, Goa.

Born Vishwanath Patekar on January 1, 1951, Nana Patekar built a career spanning more than four decades in Hindi and Marathi cinema.

He made his Hindi film debut with Gaman in 1978. He later earned praise for his performances in films such as Parinda, Krantiveer, Agni Sakshi, Ab Tak Chhappan, Raajneeti and Natsamrat.

Nana was also known for his comic role as Uday Shetty in the Welcome franchise. He directed Prahaar: The Final Attack in 1991.

The actor received the Padma Shri in 2013 for his contribution to cinema and the arts. He also won three National Film Awards during his career.

Beyond films, Nana Patekar was associated with social causes, including support for farmers and families affected by agrarian distress.
