Paris: At least 153 people were killed in multiple attacks in Paris on Friday. A concert hall, a sports stadium and restaurants were attacked by the bombers and the gunmen at various locations across Paris.
As many as 100 people, who were attending a rock concert at the Bataclan music hall, were shot dead by the gunmen. The commandos of anti-terrorism killed the gunmen and rescued several others.
At least 40 others were killed in five other attacks. The attack also took place at the national stadium where Hollande and the German Foreign Minister were watching a friendly soccer international. However, Mr Hollande was rescued from the deadliest atatck.
Mr Hollande declared a nationwide state of emergency and also announced the closure of France’s borders to stop perpetrators escaping. Further details are still awaited.
