6.8 magnitude earthquake jolts Japan

Tokyo: A powerful earthquake measuring 6.8 on Richter scale rattled Japan on Wednesday morning at around 6:12 am. However, officials said there was no risk of Tsunami.

According to the Japan Meteorological Agency, the strong quake shook the Japan at a depth of 46 kilometers off the coast of Miyagi prefecture.

The quake was felt in Tokyo and jolted the northern Japan. So far, no reports of loss of life and property have been registered.
