7 Killed in Helicopter Crash In Katra

New Delhi: At least seven people were killed in a chopper crash on Monday. The crash occurred when they were travelling near Katra in Jammu and Kashmir. The services of all the helicopters to Vaishno Devi has been suspended.

It is heard that the chopper caught fire after hitting a bird, as per reports. The helicopter caught fire soon after the take off.However, there is no official announcement in this regard. The accident took place when the helicopter was returning from Sanjhi Chhat to Katra.

A woman pilot and six other pilgrims including a 3-month-old baby were killed in the crash. The deceased were identified as Sumita Vijayan (pilot), Mahesh, Akshita, Arjun Singh, Vandana, Sachin and Amrit Paul.
