Telangana: 8 Maoists killed in encounter

Hyderabad: At least eight Maoists were killed in the early hours of Tuesday in an encounter at the borders of Telangana and Chattisgarh. Two police personnel were also injured in the encounter.

The police also recovered one AK-47, two SLR, three Infas, one 303 rifles and other material from the site of the incident. The encounter took place between Nimmalaboru village in Bijapur district in Chattisgarh and Bochalanka village under Charla mandal in Telangana.

Reports said that the police of Chattisgarh and Telangana conducted a joint operation to curb Maoists. On receiving information, the police surrounded the meeting place of Maoists and opened fire. It is also heard that few leaders managed to flee the place during the attack. More details are awaited soon.
