The Indian team lost the Asia Women’s T20 Cup to Bangladesh in the finals on Sunday. Bangladesh is the first team to break the Indians’ winning streak in this tournament. India won the first six titles of the T20 tournament and lost the seventh to Bangladesh.
The finals were held in Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia after India beat Pakistan and Bangladesh beat Malaysia to enter the finals together. However, India went up against Bangladesh in the earlier stage of the tournament and failed to beat them. The final was a repetition of the earlier match between the two countries.
India made a meager score of 113 in 20 overs which Bangladesh quickly chased with three wickets to spare. The Bangladeshi women cricket team was on fire and left no place for error while playing. Rumana Ahmed and Khadija Tul Kubra showed their bowling skills by claiming two wickets each.
India’s all rounder Harmanpreet Kaur managed to score 56 runs out of 47 balls but failed to get support to get a decent score.
