Amaravati: CM Chandrababu expressed anger over the fire in the Madanapalle Sub-Collectorate of Annamayya district. An urgent inquiry has been ordered. DGP Dwaraka Tirumala Rao has been directed to visit the site immediately by helicopter, accompanied by the CID chief. Important documents were reportedly burnt in the fire, raising suspicions as it occurred just hours before the new sub-collector took charge. Allegations suggest that land records were deliberately destroyed.

A fire broke out at the Madanapalle Sub-Collector office at midnight on Sunday, burning valuable revenue records, computers, and equipment. The fire brigade, located nearby, quickly controlled the fire, but significant damage was done. An employee named Gautham, present until midnight, has been detained by the police. District officials, including the collector and SP, began an investigation on the spot.

CM Chandrababu reviewed the incident in the Assembly, meeting with top officials and demanding all details, including CCTV footage. He questioned the district authorities’ delayed response.
