The Indian National Congress (INC) released an audio tape and had big claims against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP.)
On the 6th of May, Saturday, the INC unit in Karnataka alleged the BJP leaders of conspiring against Mr. Mallikarjun Kharge, the President of the All India Congress Committee (AICC.) With the release of the audio tape, in which the BJP candidate from Chittapur Mr. Manikanta Rathod used abusive language for Mr. Mallikarjun Kharge and could be heard talking about eliminating him and his family.
Ahead of the 2023 Karnataka Assembly elections, the INC held a media briefing and alleged the BJP of playing it dirty with a conspiracy to murder the AICC President and his family.
Mr. Randeep Surjewala, a senior leader of the INC said, “Plotting to assassinate the president of Congress Shri Mallikarjun Kharge, his wife and his children is not something that anybody should brush aside.” He further added, “And it’s not an ordinary person. It is the blue eyed boy, the Chittapur BJP candidate whose track record you know better than me, of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and chief minister Basavaraj Bommai. I know the prime minister will remain mute, and so will Karnataka police and the Election Commission of India. But people of Karnataka will not remain mute and will give a befitting reply.”
The BJP is yet to respond to the big claims of the INC.
Meanwhile, the major development and twists in the Karnataka Politics, could lead to a significant importance to the elections, scheduled on the 10th of May. The BJP and the INC are two major parties in the fray, making efforts to win the assembly elections and form the next government.
