Earthquake of Magnitude 4.4 Felt in Delhi

The capital region of the country woke up today to find itself captured in the tremors of an earthquake that hit the region around 4.30 am in the morning. The earthquake is analysed to be 10 kilometres in depth and had a magnitude of 4.4 on the Richter scale.

The epicentre of the quake was found to be at the Delhi-Haryana border as reported by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD). It was around 13 kilometres southeast of the Bawal district in Haryana. The tremors were also felt in Gurgaon and Noida.

Although the strength of the earthquake wasn’t strong enough to lead to loss of property and/or life, many people were supposedly awakened by it. The social media platform, Twitter, along with breaking lines scrolls on various news channels proclaimed about the event.

This earthquake comes right after a 3.6 magnitude one that was experienced in Punjab just yesterday that had a depth of 13 kilometres. Probably the nature is hinting us that the air pollution in Delhi is indeed becoming too much to handle for Mother Earth.
