GoAir aircraft with 168 passengers on board hits aerobridge

Chennai: An aircraft of GoAir hit an aerobridge at Chennai airport on Friday. The incident occurred when 168 passengers were on board. However, all passengers and crew disembarked safely. All the passengers had to exit the plane from the rear door using a step ladder. The plane was damaged in the accident.

The accident occurred when the operator of the aerobridge was allegedly on the phone, according to reports. At present, the plane was grounded. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) will investigate the accident, according to the statement of Chennai airport.

The statement also said, “The GoAir Aircraft No.G 8 305 (Mumbai to Portblair via Chennai) while docking with passenger boarding bridge (PBB) slightly got damaged by the side of the door.”
