A 27 year old man allegedly committed suicide while depressed, because of losing lakhs of rupees in cricket betting. Reports revealed the man hung himself in his house in Hyderabad.

Ghana Shyam Das left a suicide note that read, “Sorry mom and dad, I lost everything in betting and I have no option other than this.”

The 27 year old, Ghana Shyam Das was running a general store in Bapuji Nagar, Hyderabad. The man spent most of his money betting on cricket matches.

Ghana was married on April 28th of this year. His addiction went to the extent of him betting his wife’s 280 grams of gold.

The money and the gold was all lost in the betting on IPL and other cricket matches. Ghana went as far as borrowing money from people hoping to make twice as much. The man eventually lost all the money he invested in the tricky business including his life savings, leaving him with no other choice (as he felt,) but suicide.

The police have filed a case and an investigation is being carried out on his death.
