One militant was killed, on the 7th of March, during an encounter between security forces and militants in Handwara area of Kupwara district, Jammu and Kashmir.
The identity of the deceased militant is yet to be ascertained.
After the gunfight was over between the militants and the security forces, the security officials launched a search operation and cordoned off the area.
According to sources, another terrorist is also believed to be trapped in the joint operation of the security forces. However, there is no official announcement regarding the same.
According to the Army officials, arms and ammunition were also recovered from the encounter spot.
The Jammu and Kashmir authorities suspended the internet services in Handwara district, Jammu and Kashmir.
As of now, the search operation is still underway in Handwara.
