On Friday, the Jaypee Associations explained to the Supreme Court that it will have to sell the Yamuna Expressway. This move is being made for Jaypee to comply with the court’s order to deposit Rs. 2,000 crores to compensate the homebuyers who have purchased flats from Jaypee Infratech.
Jaypee is seeking the top court’s approval to sell the Expressway as it has received an offer of Rs. 2,500 crores from a potential buyer. The matter will be discussed by the Supreme Court on 23rd October.
The Supreme Court ordered Jaypee to pay the deposit of Rs. 2,000 crores by 27th October. The order came after the court heard the plea of over 40 homebuyers of Jaypee Wish Town Project in Noida.
