Kamal Haasan announced the name of his political party as Makkal Needhi Maiam (Center for People’s Justice.) At Madurai’s Ottakattai Grounds Haasan made the announcement to his audience and said, “This is a party for you, for the people. I am your instrument, you are the leaders, this is a crowd full of leaders.”
The actor turned politician unveiled his party flag which has a white background and arms holding each other in a circle. The flag also features a star in the middle of the circle.
Kamal Haasan unveiled his flag and saluted it with Arvind Kejriwal by his side. He also invited AAP Leader Somnath Bharti and farmer’s leader P. R. Pandian. Kamal started the day early in Rameswaram where he visited former president Abdul Kalam’s family.
In Rameswaram Kamal Haasan spoke to the fishing community calling them one of the most important industries in the State. He then set out on a yatra to Madhurai.
According to Dalit Leader Thol. Thirumavalavan, he stated Kamal and Rajinikanth are BJP’s agents. The Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi party leader claimed this is in an attempt to give DMK competition in Tamil Nadu.
