Pakistan:14 killed, 25 injured in suicide bomb blast at Mardan

Pakistan: 14 people were killed in a blast at Mardan district in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province on Tuesday. The blast in the city of northwest of Islamabad occurred outside the door of a government office called the National Database and Registration Authority or NADRA, which is responsible for issuing national identity cards.

According to the reports, a suicide bomber reportedly exploded his vest when he was stopped from entering the office gates. Deputy Inspector General Mardan Division, Saeed Wazir, said the accident was a “suicide attack carried out by a bomber”.

More than 25 people have been wounded. The building that houses the Nadra office was also damaged, says the reports.

Pakistan media cited officials saying that the death toll is likely to rise.
