New Delhi: The Union government on Tuesday issued notification for the implementation of the 7th Pay Commission related to the hike in basic pay and pension. Up to 4.8 million central government employees and 5.2 million pensioners will get the hiked pay form their August salaries. The notification is dated July 25, 2016.
The 7th Pay Commission recommendations on basic pay and pension hike will be effective from January 1, 2016, according to the reports. The notification said as regards to the annual increment, instead of the earlier July 1, now there will be two dates of January 1 and July 1.
The Seventh Central Pay Commission recommended changes in the pay of around 1 crore individuals — 33 lakh central government employees, 14 lakh armed forces personnel, and 52 lakh pensioners.
In a year the employee will be entitled for increment at one of these dates depending on his date of appointment, etc.
