New Delhi: Over 107 people reportedly killed when a crane toppled over the Mecca Grand Mosque on Friday evening. 200 people were injured out of which 9 are identified as Indian.
Soon after this the spokesman of the administration for the mosques in Mecca and Medina said, ‘the crane smashed into the part of the Grand Mosque where worshipers circumambulate the Kaaba and where pilgrims walk between Mount Safe and Marwa.’
“Our Consulate in Jeddah is monitoring situation in Makkah following tragic accident. We have recd reports that 9 Indian pilgrims are injured,” Spokesperson in the Ministry of External Affairs, Vikas Swarup tweeted.
