Afghanistan is Celebrating Reunion With India

Afghanistan is celebrating its reunion and thanking India for reconstruction of the multipurpose Salma Dam. The dam was kept under hold for almost a decade and now its almost complete. The dam is located at western Herat Province, Indians started the construction of the war-torn dam in the year 1996.

The residents express their happiness and gratitude by visiting an Indian consulate and also thanked the officials for being responsible,  keeping their commitment. The reservoir was filled with water.
Afghan residents hailed India by holding 100-metre-long Indian flag across the streets. The completion of the dam is a monumental significance to the Afghanistan as it has solved the problem of electricity in the country up to large extent.
Afghans were thrilled as they took out processions on the streets, sang Bollywood numbers, and presented the Indian officials at the consulate with flowers.
