Beijing: On Wednesday night, explosions shook the port city of Tianjin. Nearly 17 people were killed and more than 300 injured in the series of deadly blasts. The explosions took place at around 1.30 pm (9 pm IST) on Wednesday night, according to reports.
A series of explosions killed 17 people and the wounded were admitted to a hospital. The massive blasts one after the other rocked the port city of Tianjin. According to reports, the first blast was equivalent to 3 tons of TNT and second one was equivalent to 21 tons of TNT.
Reports suggest that the the blast occurred from a warehouse storing chemical explosives. The investigation is underway and there is no official confirmation on what caused the blast. The rescue operations are still in progress.
