Today’s BRICS Summit was fruitful for India as a joint declaration was adopted by the BRICS leaders condemning terrorism in all forms and manifestations.

Chinese President Xi Jinping stressed on the security situation in the regions by terror groups like Taliban, Islamic State, Al Qaida along with Eastern Turkistan Islamic Movement, Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan, the Haqqani network, Lashkar e Taiba, Jaish e Mohammad, Tehrik i Taliban and Hizb ut Tahrir.

The declaration read, “We deplore all terrorist attacks worldwide, including attacks in BRICS countries, and condemn terrorism in all its forms and manifestations wherever committed and by whomsoever and stress that there can be no justification whatsoever for any act of terrorism.”

The newly appointed Minister of External Affairs, Raveesh Kumar said, ”They discussed about trade and tourism. Oil and Natural gas exploration was also on the agenda.”

Prime Minister Modi and Chinese Minister Xi Jinping will be having bilateral talks tomorrow where they will clear the air on the Doklam standoff that lasted for 73 days.
