President Donald Trump is known for pointing out fake news even though he gives a number of “alternative facts.” But the president took things to another level by putting up a framed cover of Time Magazine with him on it. It doesn’t sound too harmful except for the fact the cover is FAKE!

The Washington Post revealed the President had the Time Magazine cover hung in around four of his golf clubs from South Florida to Scotland. Time has asked the President to take the fake cover down that is dated 1st March 2009. To make things even more amusing Time Magazine never even released an edition on that particular date.

The real cover of Time magazine that week featured actress Kate Winslet on March 2nd.

The fake cover portrays a picture of Donald Trump with the headline, “Donald Trump: The ‘Apprentice’ is a television smash!” The magazine cover has another headline above the Time nameplate that reads, “Trump is hitting on all fronts…even TV!”

It is still not known who put in the effort to make the fake cover but the barcode on the magazine is exactly like the one from a graphic design tutorial that was posted online in 2010.

A Time spokesperson has confirmed that the cover is fake and also reported they have asked the Trump administration to take down any such covers.

The news came out when a Washington Post reporter was visiting one of Trump’s properties and came across the framed magazine cover. The reporter took a hard look at it and realized that the red border was skinnier than the original and was also missing the famous white line.

Comedians snagged the opportunity to roast the President who is famously known to taunt news channels about fake news. Steven Colbert made time on his Late Show to troll the President’s fake cover.
