Hours after the Russian President Mr. Vladimir Putin announced war against Russia, an explosion was reported.
On the 24th of February, Thursday, Kharkiv, the second largest city of Ukraine, reported an explosion. Besides Kharkiv, Capital city Kyiv also heard heavy explosions.
It is to be noted, early in the morning of the 24th of February, Mr. Vladimir Putin announced war against Russia. He ordered military operations in Ukraine and called on soldiers there to lay down their arms. Mr. Vladimir Putin also made a statement regarding and said, “Russian military operation aims to ensure a “demilitarization” of Ukraine.”
Mr. Vladimir Putin also said, if any country interferes in the matter, would face consequences, “Consequences they have never seen.”
Addressing the media, Mr. Dmitry Peskov spokesperson for Kremlin said “Written requests have come through for Russian President Vladimir Putin from Leonid Pasechnik, the head of the Lugansk People’s Republic, and Denis Pushilin, the head of the Donetsk People’s Republic.”
On the other hand, the Ukrainian leadership on the other hand said that it tried to reach out to Russian President Vladimir Putin. However there was no answer from the Russian administration.
The United States of America (U.S.A.,) President Mr. Joe Biden also reacted to the war declared by Mr. Putin. Mr Biden said, “President Putin has chosen a premeditated war that will bring a catastrophic loss of life and human suffering.” He also said that he would address a meeting later, and would announce further steps taken against the Russian Government, beyond announcing sanctions against them.
On the 22nd of February, the U.S.A., Government announced sanctions against Russia, keeping Russia in a tough spot leading to a major financial crisis.
