This project is expected to be worth $ 1 Billion and another expected follow up deal of $ 2 Billion is led by the Israel Defence major, Rafael Advanced Defense Systems. This implies India and Israel will be building and running a joint military industry.

Netanyahu and Modi are said to be very keen on the partnership. According to sources, “So, what may begin as the assembling of Israeli technology could soon, probably, develop into a joint industry.” Israel currently has most of their defense equipment production factories in the US.

The experts opine that Israel’s decision might not go well with the President of US Donald Trump’s administration. Reports say this might be perceived as endangering the ‘America First’ policy as it reduces jobs in the United States. This might be contradicted as in the end of June during Modi’s visit to the US, the US defense major Lockheed Martin also agreed to produce F16s in India.
