An Indian American, Sayantan Ghose was arrested by the police on Thursday for allegedly shooting his ex-wife and her husband. The ex-wife survived the gunshots, but the husband was declared dead on spot by the police.
The Galveston County District Attorney’s office said Ghose was detained at the checkpoint of the New Mexico Border. He has been charged with murder and attempt to murder for the late Wednesday shootings. A bond has been set for USD 150,000.

According to the Police, Ghose entered into an argument with his ex-wife and her husband at around 9 P.M., in the 700 block of Mayhill Ridge Lane house. This argument turned violent and resulted in the shooting. The League City Police reported officers found Clarence Wayne Harris II on the driveway in front of the house after being shot several times. Amanda Harris, the ex-wife, 36, was also found with a gunshot wound and is being treated at the local hospital.

Ghose was present at the party at the couple’s house in the evening, after which an argument erupted and led to the shooting. Ghose shot Amanda twice and Clarence four times. Amanda alleged that Ghose had been stalking her for years. She called the police a little before 9 P.M., so as to make a citizen’s arrest.

Both Amanda and Clarence had weapons on them. The police officer online heard Amanda scream “Get away from my gun!” There were also several disruptions while on call when shots were heard. Ghose escaped from the property before the police arrived at the site of the incident.
