Japan Earthquakes Kill 29, Injures 1500

Nearly 29 people were killed and 1500 others were wounded in the Japan’s twin earthquakes in two days. A powerful magnitude of 7.3 earthquake jolted the Kumamoto region on the southwestern island of Kyushu on Saturday. On Thursday night, Kyushu was hit by a magnitude-6.5 quake. The twin quakes killed many people and left several others trapped.

Tomoyuki Tanaka, Kumamoto Prefectural official, said that the death toll is climbing and nearly 70,000 people have been displaced. Thousands of soldiers are busy with the rescue operations.
